Meet The New Faces Included In PM Modi's Council Of Ministers
Joining PM Narendra Modi's council of ministers, 19 new faces took oath today in the majestic Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Faggan Singh Kulaste is a Lok Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh's Mandala. He was member of the Lok Sabha from 1996 to 2009 from Mandala. He lost the elections in 2009 and later elected to the Rajya Sabha. He had served as the Minister of State in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's ministry.

SS Ahluwalia is presently BJP's Lok Sabha member from Darjeeling in West Bengal. He had served as the Minister of State in PV Narasimha Rao's ministry. He was the deputy leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha from 2010 to 2012. He was also the member of Rajya Sabha for several terms but lost the seat in the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha elections held in 2012. With the backing of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), he entered the Lok Sabha in 2014 from Darjeeling.

Vijay Goel is presently representing the BJP in Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. He had served as the Minister of State in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's ministry. He was also the member of 11th, 12th and 13th Lok Sabha from Delhi but lost the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. He was also the president of BJP's Delhi unit.

Ramdas Athawale is member of Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. He is a Dalit leader and belongs to BJP's ally Republican Party of India (RPI). He was elected to Lok Sabha in 1998 from Mumbai North Central in alliance with the Congress. He was also elected to Lok Sabha from Maharashtra's Pandharpur constituency in 1999 and 2004 in alliance with Congress-NCP but lost the elections in 2009 from Shirdi.

Parshottam Rupala is currently one of the vice presidents of the BJP and also a member of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Rupala is a strong Patel leader from Gujarat and his addition to the government could help it deflect criticism in the PM Modi's home state, where 22-year-old Hardik Patel has galavanised the traditionally powerful and rich caste against the BJP. He was also a Cabinet minister in Gujarat under Keshubhai Patel and Narendra Modi.

Mahendra Nath Pandey is BJP's Lok Sabha member from Chandauli constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Rural Development. He is a Brahmin, a big votebank in Uttar Pradesh that all parties are vying to woo in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Anupriya Patel is a leader of BJP's ally Apna Dal in Uttar Pradesh and also a Lok Sabha member from Mirzapur constituency. She is a leader of the Kurmi caste. She is a daughter of Apna Dal founder Sone Lal Patel. In 2015, she was expelled by her mother Krishna Patel for alleged anti-party activities.
