Narendra Modi's mega rally in Delhi

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is garlanded as he arrives at Japanese Park.

Giant lotuses, the symbol of the Bharatiya Janata Party, are erected on the stage inside Japanese Park, Rohini in west Delhi. Just five days ago, the Gujarat Chief Minister led a massive rally in Bhopal which the BJP described as "record-breaking".

Elaborate pandals have been set up and the rally is expected to draw thousands of Modi supporters. The BJP declared they were expecting lakhs of Modi fans at the venue.

Posters of top BJP leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani, adorn the walls at the venue of the rally.

The BJP says it has sent out invites to nearly 80 foreign missions with about 35 missions confirming their attendance in what is being viewed as an aggressive, parallel campaign for Modi-as-the-next-PM in front of an international audience.
