  • Hindustan Times: US President-elect Joe Biden called for an end to the "grim era of demonisation" and reached out to disappointed supporters of President Donald Trump, asking them to "give each other a chance" in a victory speech aimed unmistakably at unifying a bitterly divided country, saying it was "time to heal". The President-elect also said he will announce a team of Transition Advisers on Monday to make a blueprint out of his campaign's Covid-19 plan that is ready for implementation from January 20, 2021, the day he is sworn in as president, the daily reported.
  • Indian Express: An Army officer, two soldiers, and a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel lost their lives in a fierce gunfight early Sunday on the Line of Control (LoC) in which three militants, who were trying to enter the Valley through the Machil sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara, were killed, officials said. Two soldiers were also injured in the firing, the daily reported.
  • The Asian Age: Delhi recorded over 7,700 new coronavirus cases for the first time, with the positivity rate rising upto 15.26 per cent, the health department said. The highest single-day spike of 7,745 new infections came out of the 50,754 tests conducted the previous day, and the positivity rate stood at 15.26% amid the festive season and rising pollution, according to a health bulletin.
