The two Mi-17 helicopters crashed into each other around 12:25 pm on Thursday.

The helicopters were reportedly on a training mission.

Rescue and relief teams were rushed to the spot.

A court of inquiry was ordered by the IAF to go into the causes for the accident, IAF spokesperson Wing Commander Gerard Galway said in New Delhi.

The collision took place at the Sarmat ranges near Jamnagar, about 275 km from Ahmedabad.
