With big gains for the BJP in the Jharkhand and the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections, celebrations began early for its supporters who braved the winter chill to celebrate outside the party office in New Delhi.
PDP candidate Mohd Ashraf flashed the victory sign after defeating incumbent Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah from the Sonawar constituency.
Pink was the hue en vogue as the women wing of the BJP celebrated after the Jharkhand Assembly results were declared at the state party office in Ranchi.
Union Home Minister, senior BJP Leader, Rajnath Singh credited the Prime Minister, his party president and the workers for the electoral success in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand.
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar, also the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said, "Desh ko vikas chahiye aur vikas ke liye Modiji kas saath chahiye."
The BJP office in Bangalore was the hub of all activity with party supporters lighting a stream of crackers. One worker wearing a mask of Narendra Modi, flashed the victory sign.
