M Karunanidhi:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanaidhi said, "I'm sad Sai Baba has left us all. Sai Baba voluntarily spent 200 crore rupees to bring water to Chennai when some states even refused water to Tamilnadu. Although am an atheist Sai Baba had great affection for me. I never thought he would leave us all this early. My condolences for his countless devotees."

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin will visit Puttaparthi to pay tributes to the spiritual leader.
He said, "The people of Chennai will be ever grateful to Babaji for his contribution to Krishna water. His holiness Sri Sai Babaji's demise is a great loss to the nation and entire humanity." -

Vice President Hamid Ansari said Sai Baba's "words and actions have lit the lamp of love in the hearts of devotees. His message of service to humanity as service to God and as a means of destroying narrow- mindedness is of eternal relevance." -
B S Yeddyurappa:
“Sai Baba was considered as the representative of the Almighty in this world by crores of his devotees. He sacrificed his entire life for the good of human beings. In his death the nation has lost a noble soul. May his soul rest in peace,” the Karnataka Chief Minister left in his condolence message.
