Congress President Sonia Gandhi pays her last respect to Sri Sathya Sai Baba inside Prashanthi Nilayamat Puttaparthi.

M Karunanidhi:

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanaidhi said, "I'm sad Sai Baba has left us all. Sai Baba voluntarily spent 200 crore rupees to bring water to Chennai when some states even refused water to Tamilnadu. Although am an atheist Sai Baba had great affection for me. I never thought he would leave us all this early. My condolences for his countless devotees."

The popular film actor and Praja Rajyam Party president says, "Sai Baba's death is a great loss to human race." He also recounts how Sai Baba advised him when he was going through a bad time.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister left for Puttaparthi on Sunday to pay his last respects to Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

M K Stalin:

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin will visit Puttaparthi to pay tributes to the spiritual leader.

He said, "The people of Chennai will be ever grateful to Babaji for his contribution to Krishna water. His holiness Sri Sai Babaji's demise is a great loss to the nation and entire humanity."

Nitin Gadkari:

BJP President Nitin Gadkari condoled Sai Baba's death and said, "The departure of such a great cultural and social icon of global fame from the spiritual world has left a void which will remain unfulfilled for a long time to come."

Farooq Abdullah:

"I pray may his soul rest in peace and all his devotees be strong enough to face his death," Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah said.

Hamid Ansari:

Vice President Hamid Ansari said Sai Baba's "words and actions have lit the lamp of love in the hearts of devotees. His message of service to humanity as service to God and as a means of destroying narrow- mindedness is of eternal relevance."

B S Yeddyurappa:

“Sai Baba was considered as the representative of the Almighty in this world by crores of his devotees. He sacrificed his entire life for the good of human beings. In his death the nation has lost a noble soul. May his soul rest in peace,” the Karnataka Chief Minister left in his condolence message.
