Rains hit rail, road traffic in Mumbai

Local trains in Mumbai on the Central and Harbour Lines are running 20 minutes late this evening, due to heavy rains.

  • After a day of heavy rains - the heaviest of the season - parts of the city and its immediate outskirts are still receiving heavy rainfall. Water-logging on railway tracks between Kalyan and Vithalwadi on the immediate outskirts of Mumbai meant services on the suburban central railway were disrupted. Many roads in Kalyan too were waterlogged. Parts of South Mumbai too received rainfall this morning.
