Rains Pound Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Heavy Rain Alert Issued
Rain clouds in Himachal Pradesh remained "very active" in the last 24 hours. While the met department recorded rain many parts of the state, Shimla, Kullu and Sirmaur districts witnessed massive landslides because of nonstop downpour. Kelyong in Lahaul and Spiti district remained the coldest place in the state at 10.7 degrees Celsius. Uttarakhand's weather department also issued a heavy rain alert for the state. The state's disaster management authority further instructed district magistrates to be prepared with relief operations in case of accidents.
