The holy month of Ramzan, also spelt as Ramzan begins today. Muslims all over the globe observe fast for a month and offer special prayers to Allah. It is a period marked with immense devotion and sincerity. Chapters from the Holy Quran are recited everyday and Namaz is offered at specific timings. Along with the daily observances and fasting, people also exchange Ramzan Mubarak messages, Ramadan Kareem images and greetings in Urdu.

Muslims are preparing for Islam's holy month of Ramzan, which is calculated on the sighting of the new moon, and during which they fast from dawn until dusk.
The fasting during the Holy month of Ramzan is also known as Sawm. It requires Muslims to abstain from food, drink and any negative behaviour from dawn until dusk.
Ramzan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which involves rigorous fasting for 30 days.
