  • Around 100 people, including IPL players, children of celebrities, and people connected to Bollywood, were detained on Sunday for attending a rave party at the Oakwood Premier Hotel in Mumbai's suburban Juhu.

Here's a look at who said what in this case.

Wayne Parnell, cricketer (Plays for Pune Warriors India in the Indian Premier League)
"Myself and Rahul (Sharma) were invited to a friend's birthday party… We had planned on leaving the party at 8 pm to get some dinner and at around 7 pm the raid happened. We were not aware of a Rave or of any drugs being taken, the party was on the pool terrace so it was very relaxed. We were sent to a hospital in Mumbai where blood and urine samples were taken. At no stage was I arrested or detained, I was calm because I knew that I hadn't done anything wrong, I was at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
  • Rahul Sharma, cricketer (Plays for Pune Warriors India in the Indian Premier League)

"I was told this was a birthday party, hence I went with my friend. When we reached there, it seemed like a normal party which I usually attend. The cops wanted to check us, and we allowed. We were then taken to the hospital, and they cleared us," Rahul said.

I am sure my results won't be positive, he said adding that he is hearing about rave party for the first time. "If tests are positive, I'll quit cricket," Rahul said.
  • Apoorva Agnihotri, TV actor

“We had nothing to do with the party. We were sitting at the front while the party was going on behind us. Even if they were doing anything, we would not know,” he said.
  • Shilpa Saklani, TV actor

"It was a nice sundown party and we had gone there for a date. We didn't know it was a rave party," Shilpa told reporters.

"We were hardly there for 25 minutes and were sitting outside. There were journalists and scientists as well. We saw cops had come to the hotel and we were sent for medical examination… There is no way my test can be positive," she added.
  • Vishwas Nagre Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police, Mumbai Police

“Approximately 110 grams of cocaine has been found - prima facie. This was a dedicated rave party. A good amount of cocaine stock was found there. MDMA, Ecstasy and charas has also been found with it,” he said.

The police said invitations for the party were sent out through social networking site Facebook. A message posted on the site said, "Support the party, not the drug", the police said, adding that they were trying to ascertain whether this was the way to inform people that there would be drugs at the party.
