Smog envelopes Delhi

A thick cover of smog meant visibility fell drastically on Saturday morning in Delhi; doctors and experts are dealing with hundreds of worried calls asking if this is a fallout of the Jaipur oil depot fire.

An unusual, thick smog was observed over the Capital and its suburbs since early Saturday morning. A haze has been hanging over the city, right through the day, making even the afternoon look like a bleary morning. People are complaining of burning sensation in the eyes, breathlessness and nausea.

Doctors and experts are dealing with hundreds of worried calls asking if this is a fallout of the Jaipur oil depot fire. The weathermen say high levels of humidity, which is about 92% on Saturday, clubbed with low wind conditions have created the condition. Also there are high clouds due to approaching western disturbance.
