Surfer Pics: Solar eclipse through your camera
The millennium's longest celestial spectacle unfolded in a narrow strip in peninsular India with enthusiasts flocking sites to observe the annular solar eclipse. For 11 minutes, the sun was visible as a golden ring of fire when viewed from some places in the southern tip of India.

The longest annular solar eclipse of the century left people spellbound for about ten minutes at midday when the sun almost vanished from the sky. Hundreds gathered at the hot spots to view the spectacle. Through this photofeature we bring you photos sent by our surfers from across the country.

It was virtual dusk a little past noon on Friday and the sky produced a ring of fire as the moon came in between the Sun and earth to mark the millennium's longest solar eclipse in this southern tip and its neighbourhood. Another picture by Amit Singh.
