This World Environment Day,the cities undertook a massive waste management campaign and pledged to adopt the two bin system following the launch of source segregation awareness campaign that also aims to improve door to door waste collection across India.

  • Two Bin System was inaugurated by Mr Naidu at the launch event. The green bin will be for biodegradable waste and the blue bin for non-biodegradable waste.He said ,"Segregation of waste at source helps in waste to compost, waste to energy and recycling. This way we will help in decreasing load from our dying landfills."

The Urban Development Minister also flagged off vehicles following the guidelines which says that municipal corporations and local bodies will only collect segregated wastes from households.
