Train derails near Jaipur
Fifteen coaches of the Mandore Express, on its way from Jodhpur to Delhi, derailed near Jaipur early on Saturday.

A train crash near Jaipur in Rajasthan early on Saturday left seven people dead and more than 25 injured.

The Mandore Express was on its way from Jodhpur to Delhi, when 15 of its coaches derailed at Banskho, 40 kilometers beyond Jaipur. The cause of the accident is not known.

Fortunately, the train's slow speed reduced the number of casualties. A relief train from Delhi was immediately sent to the location.

The Railway Ministry has announced Rs 5 lakh compensation for families of the dead, Rs 1 lakh for the seriously injured and 10,000 for those with minor injuries. The Rajasthan Government has also announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for families of the dead.

Gas cutters were used in rescue operations to cut open the damaged bogies. The accident is the fifth such train mishap this year. Northern Railways diverted 24 trains and cancelled two after the mishap.

The injured were admitted in Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Hospital. Stranded passengers were put on government buses to reach their destinations.
