Trains collide near Mathura

Two express trains collided early on Wednesday morning near Mathura. The Mewar Express and the Goa Express trains collided between Mathura and Vrindavan stations.

Over a dozen people are feared dead and another 40 to 50 are trapped inside.

Initial reports suggest one bogey is completely damaged and authorities are cutting it to rescue trapped passengers.

The injured have been taken to Mathura hospital. A few private hospitals are also stepping in to help.

The accident took place around 4am on Wednesday morning.

Senior police and district official have reached the spot. Helplines have been set up in all major neighbouring cities.
