At least 30 people were killed and many more were said to have suffered serious injuries in two separate bus accidents in Assam today. -
The first accident happened when a bus carrying a wedding party fell into a gorge in Hajo in Kamrup district. -
At least 30 people, including the bridegroom, were confirmed dead in this accident. The bus was on its way from Guwahati to Tihu. -
Local people of the area are helping Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams in search and rescue work. -
Six critically injured passengers were rescued and admitted to Mukundo Kakoti Civil hospital in neighbouring Nalbari district, the police said. -
In a second accident, an oil tanker collided with a bus in Bokakhat near Kaziranga National Park. -
Almost 22 people suffered serious burn injuries in the accident. Rescue operations were on here too. -
Firefighters seen here trying to control the fire. Five people were charred to death in the accident.
