USHA Silai School Turns Savior For People Of Mori Village Of Andhra Pradesh
In 2015, the government of Andhra Pradesh partnered with Berkeley University to launch the ‘Smart Villages Mission' and the sleepy village of Mori emerged as Andhra Pradesh's first smart village. Later, government partnered with corporations like USHA International to create employment opportunities in the villages and curb migration.

The sleepy village of Mori in Andhra Pradesh, has seen many leave in search of better livelihood opportunities. When Berekely University and the government of Andhra Pradesh collaborated to work on creating opportunities within the villages, they found a sustainable solution in Usha Silai School initiative to curb instances of migration.

With 17 years of experience in tailoring, Srihari did not find the right avenues and switched many jobs to make ends meet. After a brief stint with the Silai school, he finally opened his own tailoring unit and is grateful to the USHA Sewing School for the guidance he got there.
