Uttarakhand Polls: Faces to Watch
Uttarakhand is set to vote for its next government on January 30. However, there is the chance that polls may be re-scheduled due to the severe cold wave in the North. There are 70 constituencies in the state and the results will be declared along with those from other states like Uttar Pradesh on March 6.

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank: The former CM of Uttarakhand was asked to step down by BJP top brass after he came under a corruption cloud. However, the party insists that allegations against him are inaccurate. He will contest the polls from the Doiwala (Dehradun) Assembly seat for the BJP.

Jaspal Rana: The former international shooter joined the Congress after quitting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Jaspal Rana would be among the campaigners for the party in the state. Congress leaders said that Rana would be among the campaigners for the party in the state.

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister N D Tiwari managed to field his nephew Manish Tiwari as the Congress candidate from Gadarpur Assembly seat in the state. He has also managed to get a ticket for his OSD Aryender Sharma. Two other ND TIwari loyalists also managed to get tickets.
