Varun Gandhi-Yamini Roy tie the nuptial knot

Varun Gandhi married Inca Yamini Roy Chaudhary, a graphic designer, at the Kamkoteshwar Temple in Varanasi on Sunday. The guests at the wedding included just immediate family. However, no one from Sonia Gandhi's family was present. Varun had invited his cousins Priyanka and Rahul, and aunt Sonia Gandhi for the ceremony.

This is the first wedding in the family after Priyanka married Robert Vadra in 1997.

The 'Vedic' wedding ceremony began at around 6.30 am, and lasted nearly three hours. The rituals were conducted by Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati and other priests of the Kamkoteshwar Temple.

Yamini, an alumnus of Shantiniketan in West Bengal and Delhi's St. Stephens college, wore a rose-pink Benarasi sari for the wedding, the sari which Varun's grandmom Indira Gandhi gifted to Maneka on her wedding, and Varun wore a silk kurta and dhoti with an orange angavastram.

The Kamkoteshwar Temple on Hanuman Ghat wore a festive look. The temple, considered one of the most sacred in Varanasi, had turned into a fortress with security personnel standing guard at every nook and corner.
