The Pune rural police officials said these people were in the vicinity of the room where the victim was staying at the resort. The victim was part of a group of 270 employees of the MNC that visited the resort for a conference organised by the MNC.
On December 10, between midnight and 3.40 am, the victim was allegedly raped twice and assaulted by an unknown person. She lodged a complaint at Paud police station. Later, the police filed a first information report (FIR) against the unknown person. However, the police are tight-lipped at this juncture about the identity of the staff and their employers.
"We have made a list of some persons and 15 of them were questioned by us. We are confident of cracking the case," the police officials said. It was also learnt that the police officials are scrutinising the records of the victim's cellphone. The Pune rural police have formed four teams to investigate the matter. It has asked the MNC to furnish details of the employees who took part in the programme, but is yet to receive the information sought.
