Anushree surrenders; she allegedly set ex and his girlfriend on fire

Pune: Anushree Kundra, who had been on the run after allegedly setting her ex and his girlfriend on fire, has surrendered in a Pune court today.

Juhi Prasad, a young lawyer, died in hospital in October.  Before she passed away, she told her father that she has been asleep at her flat with Nimesh Sinha, when Anushree entered their home and poured petrol over them.

The Pune policemen handling the case say that Anushree, an IT professional,  first had a heated argument with Nimesh and Juhi, and then left their home. She returned later and attacked them. Mr Sinha survived his burns.

Anushree had disappeared; her cellphone and email accounts were not in use for the last few weeks. Then she successfully applied for anticipatory bail on November 11 in the Delhi High Court. That four-day bail expired today.

She has been remanded to police custody till November 21.
