Pune: Wielding what Police suspect was a fake revolver, a man walked into a bank on the outskirts of Pune and escaped with nearly Rs 4 lakh in cash.
On Wednesday, security cameras inside the Ashok Cooperative Bank located in Wagholi, around 20 km from Pune caught a man coming into the bank and take out a gun.
He then proceeded to threaten the employees and gathered around Rs 3.8 lakh in cash and had it packed it in a bag.
The man then held the manager at gunpoint and forced him to give him a lift on his motorbike. When the bike ran out of fuel, he let the manager go and escaped on a tempo.
Shopkeepers from around the bank have identified the man as a resident of Wagholi village.
Police are now looking for suspect and have filed charges of robbery, theft, criminal intimidation and wrongful restraint.
