Complaint over spilt milk ends in man's murder
Pune: Abdul Sayyad (65) had just gone to the milk vendor to complain about a torn milk sachet. He had to pay for it with his life. Sayyad was beaten up by the vendor and two others after he complained about the torn packet and demanded another one.

The four have been booked under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. All the accused are in their early twenties. A resident of Bhavani Peth, Sayyad had gone to buy milk from Badshah Sharif Shaikh around 9.30 am. On his way home, he realised milk was leaking from the packet, and he went back to demand another one.

According to police officials from Khadak Police Station, Shaikh refused to replace the bag and the argument spiralled out of control. "The accused along with two others first started abusing him and then assaulted him with severe blows. This continued till he fell unconscious," said an official.

Sayyad was immediately taken to Cantonment Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Senior Police Inspector RL Kadam of Khadak police station said the victim died because of severe bodily and internal injuries.

An FIR was filed by Sayyad's daughter Reshma (35), who works as a domestic help. Sayyad was employed with the State Transport and had retired just a few years ago. The other accused are Sadik Badshah alias Mohammad Shaikh and Fazal Badshah.
