Pune: A technical manager of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was arrested in Pune for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 22000, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official said.
"A case was registered against a manager of NHAI, Pune, for demanding a bribe of Rs 25000 from the complainant, who is a developer. He alleged that the accused demanded the bribe for issuing a no-objection certificate for three plots of land near the national highway in Satara district in Maharashtra," the official said.
"The CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught while accepting the bribe from the complainant in Pune," the official said.
Searches are being conducted at the residence and office of the accused, which will be presented before court on Tuesday.
