The Pune Rural Police have prepared a sketch of the suspect who allegedly raped a 29-year-old MNC executive at Sahara Amby Valley resort at Lonavla on December 11. The woman from Mumbai was at the resort attending a company conference.
The police have formed four squads to conduct the investigation and are trying to verify the CCTV footage installed in the resort. According to the police, the suspect is 5'5 with broad shoulders and is "Hindi speaking".
"It appears that the suspect pulled out the fuse before committing the crime. She was able to make out the suspect's face which was illuminated by the outside light as he left the room," said the police.
A statement issued by Sahara Amby Valley said that the alleged rape incident appears to be an internal matter. "We wish the private firm had allowed our personnel to investigate. They have raised the issue after two days and we are fully cooperating," said the statement.
