Pune: Ajay Chordia, the son of well-known Pune businessman Ishwardas Chordia, was found dead in a hotel which he partly owned. According to the police, Mr Chordia was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hotel room on Monday.
The police suspect it to be a case of suicide and has begun its investigation. "We have found a suicide note. We are verifying this note," Senior Police Inspector B Mudiraj of the Pimpri police station said.
The body has been sent to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri region of Pune.
The police said the incident took place at 2 pm. The police reached the hotel and rushed Mr Chordia to a nearby hospital but he died before reaching there.
Mr Chordia, 47, is the owner of Panchsheel Group of Hotels in Pune. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule had shares in the company.
