Pune: A three-year-old boy died after he fell out of his school bus this morning. The rear wheels of the bus ran over the child, killing him within seconds.
The door of the bus was open, and Shiven Gupta fell out after the driver suddenly braked.
The police has arrested the driver and two women attendants who were posted on the bus by the school to supervise the children. Supreme Court guidelines require an adult representative of the school to accompany children on school buses.
The student was enrolled in Pawar Public School, which is owned by a trust run by Supriya Sule, a Member of Parliament and the daughter of Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar.
