Pune: Three missing ad executives, including a young woman, were found dead strapped into a car at the bottom of a river near Pune today. The body of a fourth colleague had been recovered by divers yesterday from the River Neera, 40 km from Pune on the highway to Bangalore.
The police says that security camera footage from a toll plaza that the car passed through on Saturday morning showed the car was speeding. Investigators believe it could have been going as fast as 100 miles per hour when it fell into the river on a stretch of the highway that does not have any railings or walls.
The body of Chintan Buch was found yesterday in the river. The police says he was sitting in the passenger seat in the front and may have managed to crawl out of the half-open window before drowning.
His three colleagues - Pranav Lele, Sahil Qureshi and Shrutika Chandwani - were found today in the silver Hyundai i20 strapped in by their seat-belts.
The group left Pune on Friday and passed through the toll plaza where they were last seen alive on Saturday morning.
The three men had planned to holiday in Goa. En route, they were going to drop their female colleague to her family home in Kolhapur.
