Pune:
The Pune division of the Department of Post has bagged the second highest rank in achieving volume growth in terms of number of speed post articles reflected on track and trace system on the website of the department.
The city division has achieved this growth for this financial year by almost 2.5 times more than the last one, said VSM, Post Master General (Pune Division), Colonel (Retiredd) KC Mishra.
The department also launched its second 'post office on wheels' service yesterday for the eastern part of the city and for Pimpri-Chinchwad after getting striking success of the service in the western part of the city. The POW's first location on its launching day was Chintamani Nagar in Bibavewadi. It ended its day by giving postal services in Shivarkar Garden in Wanowrie.
The POW van is authorised to handle all types of postal business, including various e-enabled services, opening of new post office savings account, issue of certificates, sale of postcards, sale of postal life insurance, sale of UTI products and all other postal services other than speed post.
