Pune:
Their relationship began with chatting. Soon the man, a 26-year-old techie, popped the question and she, a 26-year-old front office executive, was on top of the world. And then she got the jolt of her life when she stumbled upon a sex clip of hers uploaded on a website by her fiance.
According to the police, Sandip Ramlal Patil forced the woman to appear in the video clip saying he wanted to show her how beautiful she was. They said he shot the obscene clips on four occasions and uploaded them on a website.
The Yerwada police arrested Patil, a resident of Vinod Residency in Pashan who came to the city from Nimkhedigaon in Jalgaon, for sexually exploiting the front office executive by promising marriage and later cheating her by uploading her obscene clips on the Internet.
The police said Patil, who was earlier working with a reputable bank, had first seen the woman somewhere on a road and after that he began chasing her on her way to office. Later, he came across her profile on a social networking site and established a contact with her through it.
Their relationship grew and soon he proposed, even seeking the approval of her parents in March 2009. He then, in November that year, called her several times to his friend's homes in Maharashtra Housing Board, Yerwada, and Sathewada, near Pune Municipal Corporation in Shivaji Nagar.
The police said after Patil had got what he wanted from the woman, he dumped her.
"Patil, who earlier promised the 26-year-old marriage, started avoiding her," said Police Inspector Dipak Sawant of the Yerwada police station. "Later, when the woman saw her clip uploaded on a website, she realised she had been cheated by him."
The police said Patil had gone to US for some time and it was around then that he informed his fiance that he had prepared her video clip, but assured her that it was password protected.
But to the woman's shock, she discovered Patil had actually uploaded it on the website. She immediately approached the Aundh police chowky and the police chowky at Patil's hometown. After the case was transferred to Yerwada police station, the police arrested Patil under Sections 376, 420, 292, 507 of the IPC and Sections 66 (A) and (E) and 67 of the IT Act, 2008. Patil was remanded in police custody until February 7.
