Teen shot in the head at NCC camp in Pune
Pune: 13-year-old Parag Inale is in hospital on a life support system after being accidentally shot in the head at an NCC or National Cadet Corps camp in Pune.

Parag was among 45 students taken from the Loyola English School to the camp on Friday for firing practice.

The instructor asked the students to fall to the ground while he stood behind them and fired with a 0.22 rifle for a demonstration. However, just as he opened fire, Parag stood up and turned towards him and was hit on the forehead at close range.

His father is an engineer with the Pune Municipal Corporation. Parag is the younger of his two sons.

The NCC has not been available for comment. The organization of volunteers provides basic military training to students at schools and colleges. Those who participate in camps are given preference over other candidates if they apply to the defence services.
