Pune:
Three persons were injured as a service rifle belonging to a police constable accidentally fired inside a hotel in Bhavani Peth area on Thursday morning.
According to the police, Constable Vilas Nivrutti Kashid of Khadak Police Station was at Hotel Ambika in Lohiyanagar, having tea, when the incident happened.
His rifle, kept on a chair, slipped and three rounds got fired, injuring a waiter and two customers, police said.
All the three were admitted to a hospital, while a case has been filed against Kashid under section 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering safety of others).
