Patna: An undertrial, under treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital, on Friday escaped from a nearby hotel, prompting the authorities to suspend six policemen on the charge of dereliction of duty.
City SP Shivdeep Lande said Amit Mandal, an undertrial from Munger, was brought for treatment at the state-run hospital on June 9 and kept at a hotel near the hospital.
Mandal, who was being taken to the hospital for regular checkup, gave slip to the security men from the hotel earlier in the day, he said.
