Pune : A 32-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday by police in Pune for stealing a newborn baby boy from a hospital in Pune on Monday afternoon. The police handed over the baby to the mother.
The CCTV cameras captured images of the woman, Asama Harish Kamble, stealing the one-day-old boy from the maternity ward at the Yashwantrao Chavan hospital in Pune's township of Pinpri.
The footage shows Asama, wearing a white salwar kurta, carry the baby out of the hospital, perhaps unaware that her movements were being recorded
She stole the baby, who was in a pram, while the mother was still in a semi-conscious state and the grandparent's had stepped out to have lunch.
