Madurai: Police have recovered 11 country-made bombs from a dustbin in Madurai's Anna Nagar area, following a tip-off.
Investigations are going on in the matter; no one has been arrested yet.
This is not the first time such bombs have been recovered in Madurai.
In 2012, crude bombs were found on a bicycle in the same area, on a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then the Chief Minister of Gujarat, was scheduled to visit the area; the visit was later called off.
In 2011, pipe bombs were recovered under a bridge outside Madurai, which was on the route to be taken by BJP Leader L K Advani, who was visiting the area.
