Chennai: A 13-year-old girl student has been allegedly murdered in Seithunganallur, in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu today. Police suspect foul play and have sent her body to Tirunelvelli for medical examination to find out if she was sexually assaulted before the murder.
According to preliminary information, police say the victim, a Class 7 student, went missing yesterday. Her grandfather filed a complaint after she did not attend school or return home.
Deputy Inspector General Sumit Sharan told NDTV, "We are probing all angles and by evening we would have a clear picture after medical examination."
Local residents also blocked the road this morning demanding justice.
