Chennai:
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two auto drivers in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelvelli district on Friday. Police have arrested both of them.
According to the police, the girl had run away from her home in Madurai and took a train to reach Tirunelvelli. One of the auto drivers spotted the girl at Tirunelvelli railway station and lured her to come with him. His friend too joined and they took the girl to an isolated place and allegedly raped her, the police said.
The duo then called two of their friends who too allegedly attempted to rape her. Police are on the lookout for those two men.
The girl had reportedly run away from her home after some problem with her parents. She has now been sent to a children's home in Tirunelvelli.
"She will be sent for medical examination tomorrow and based on the medical report, we would proceed appropriately," Deputy Inspector of Police Sumit Charan told NDTV.
