17-year-old girl allegedly commits suicide after poor performance in examination

Tenkasi: Despite her overall high score of 1062 of 1200, a plus two girl student in Tenkasi allegedly committed suicide because she got lower marks in mathematics, police said today.

Police said the 17-year-old hanged herself using a duppatta when she was alone in her house.

Many students had complained that the mathematics examination question paper was tough.

The Madras High Court bench also dismissed a petition seeking to form a  high level committee of P G teachers to check the question papers and award marks for the students, after the examination directorate submitted that the question paper was set as per the blueprint
