Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksha today ordered the release of all the 19 Indian fishermen, who were remanded to judicial custody till April 4, officials in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu said.
They were arrested by the Lankan Navy yesterday off Katchatheevu.
Mannar Court Judicial Magistrate Anandhi had remanded the Rameswaram fishermen to custody today.
But by the Lankan presidential order, they were released along with their boat this evening, the officials said.
