Chennai: Gold coins weighing 2.5 kg were robbed from two employees of a private finance company when they were traveling in an auto-rickshaw here, police said on Thursday.
The duo was on their way to the Central Mofussil Bus Terminus last night with gold coins weighing 7.5 kg when the driver stopped the vehicle in a secluded place.
The two employees were robbed of 2.5 kg of gold coins by some persons, they said. One of them was injured in his arm in the melee while another managed to escape.
