Dindigul:
Fifty kg of sandalwood logs, worth about Rs one lakh were seized from four persons at Idiyanoothu forest area in the district as they were trying to smuggle it out, forest department officials said.
Forest officials said today they rushed to the spot on information that sandalwood was being cut and arrested the four persons.
They were also slapped with a fine of Rs 20,000 for cutting the trees without permission.
