Chennai: Six passengers traveling in a private bus and a pedestrian were killed after the bus overturned near Avinashi, in Tamil Nadu's Tiripur district on Tuesday.
The dead include two women and a child. 20 others too suffered injuries.
The bus driver has been arrested.
"The driver appears to have applied sudden brake in a bid to avoid hitting a man who crossed the road," said District Superintendent of Police Amit.
