Hyderabad : Seven people were killed and four were injured in a collision today between two vehicles in Telangana's Mahabubnagar district, police said.
Six of the victims were from Maharashtra and the seventh hailed from Kerala.
The accident occurred at Kommireddypalli in Addakula mandal of Mahabubnagar district, about 125 km from in Hyderabad.
A multi-utility vehicle coming to Hyderabad from Krunool, hit a divider and collided with another MUV coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the first vehicle reportedly lost control due to overspeed.
Eight of the six occupants from the first vehicle were killed. One of the three persons travelling in the second were also killed in the accident, which led to a traffic jam on the highway.
Police and rescue workers retrieved the bodies from the badly mangled cars.
