Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh: East Godavari district collector Neetu Kumari Prasad said that 8,164 people were shifted to 24 relief camps in the district on Sunday due to Godavari river's water level at Dowaleswaram Barrage in Rajahmundry.
The water level at Dowleswaram barrage was 18.95 feet and a third warning has been issued, she said.
So far 21,11,328 cusecs of water has been discharged into the sea, she said, adding that a control room has been to collect information on the water level.
She said that 15 relief camps in Amalapuram division, two in agency area of Rampachodavaram divison and seven in the Rajahmundry division have been set up for the 8,164 people shifted to these camps.
Directions have been given to district medical officials to send medical teams to flood-affected areas to prevent diseases, she said.
