Airport Authority of India (AAI) Supervisor Aji Kumar, the main accused in the case relating to June 10 clashes at Karipur airport between Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and AAI staff leading to the death of CISF jawan, was today remanded to two days in police custody.
Judicial First Class Magistrate at Manjeri today ordered the remand following a request from the police seeking his custody for further investigation into the matter, Investigating Officer, B Santosh said.
On June 16, he was remanded to 14 days judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court.
Ten AAI employees, including Aji Kumar, have been arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for rioting with deadly weapons and assault and preventing public servant from discharging duty in the case.
The altercation between AAI staff and a CISF personnel over the issue of frisking led to the violence which claimed the life of CISF constable S S Yadav.
