Coimbatore: A 25-year old man, arrested for allegedly possessing 12 kgs of ganja or cannabis a month ago, was today detained under the stringent Goondas Act.
Deepan was arrested with the contraband while attempting to supply it to college students in Peelamedu in Coimbatore on November 4.
Since he was involved in three similar cases, Commissioner of Police, A K Vishwanathan ordered his detention under the Goondas Act, which was served on him at the central prison, police said.
