Rajahmundry : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that the state government will raise the amount of monthly pension being given to elderly artistes as well as handicapped to Rs 1,500.
"The amount of pension being given to the aged artistes as well as handicapped persons, will be increased to Rs 1,500 from the existing Rs 500. The Government order to this effect will issued in two days," he said.
He announced this during a video conference with Collectors of 13 districts in the state.
He directed the officials to take necessary steps so that nobody faces any difficulties in getting pension.
"A micro level plan also needs to be prepared for the distribution of pension at Gram Panchayats and municipal wards," the Chief Minister said.
In order to create awareness about the 'Swachh Andhra Pradesh' programme, the Chief Minister will participate in a walk organized in Kakinada tomorrow, officials said.
