Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly paid glowing tributes to legendary Telugu film actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao who died in Hyderabad early morning today.
"Akkineni was a great actor who acted in 256 films. He received numerous awards and honours, including Padma Vibhushan. He rendered his services to people of Andhra Pradesh not only as an actor but also as a social worker," Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar said in a condolence motion.
The Speaker, on behalf of the House, mourned ANR's death and expressed sympathies to the bereaved family.
The members then observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect to the departed actor.
