Hyderabad: People of Andhra Pradesh, which has been reeling under severe heat wave conditions for the past many days, on Monday got some respite as the mercury level dipped slightly due to low pressure area created over the Bay of Bengal.
The highest temperature of 43.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kavali in Nellore district, Met officials said.
Light showers were also experienced at many places, they said.
According to officials, 524 people were killed till Sunday since April 1 in Andhra Pradesh due to sunstroke.
