Patna/Katihar: Two top Maoists, who were lodged in a high security cell in Bhagalpur central jail, were taken to Hyderabad on Monday by Andhra Pradesh police after obtaining their transit remand from a court in Bihar's Katihar district.
Vijay Kumar Arya and V Subramaniam, who flew to Hyderabad, was taken to Vishakhapatnam for production before a court there in connection with cases against them for their involvement in Maoist activities, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Headquarters, Ravindra Kumar said.
The two ultras were brought to Patna after obtaining their transit remand from Katihar Chief Judicial Magistrate R M Tripathi on June 23.
Arya and Subramaniam were among the seven ultras arrested from Katihar district by Bihar police in April 2011 and lodged in the high security special cell in the Bhagalpur jail since then, official sources said.
Subramaniam is a member of the Maoist central committee and carries a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head, the sources said.
